Success with ColorMunki at PMA 2008

With a crowd of over 30 people watching and cheering at the DES stand during PMA 2008 -the Southern Hemisphere’s largest photographic imaging exhibition, a man was standing on his tip toes, stretching his arm as long as he possibly can and you could see the sweat coming down his face. His goal was to be the one who pick up the longest string of monkeys during the three day trade show (Do you still remember the game – barrel of monkeys?) and be the winner of the competition to receive the prize – ColorMunki.
From enthusiasts to professionals, the ColorMunki is an innovative solution to bring a photographer’s work from screen to print with consistent colour throughout. With colour management always a key issue in professional photography, the team at DES were inundated with demand for this new all-in-one colour tool at Brisbane’s PMA Show.
June 1st, after the success completion of PMA 2008, the winner of the competition was announced, Vincenzo Gingitta, from GGingi Photography won by picking up an impressive amount of 55 little monkeys (the runner-up picked up 49 monkeys). “The winning of the ColorMunki,” said Vincenzo who specializes in wedding and portrait photography, “will be a great asset to the arsenal on the war on color management, what more can I say, I love the industry I'm in”.
