A triumphant start to 2006 sees Chromaticity Australia successfully deliver the Digital Print Makers Master Class, achieving a positive response from some of Australia’s most inspirational professional photographers.
Held in the DES head office, Rhodes, Western Sydney, the Digital Print Makers Master Class has been populated by professional photographers, framers, magazine editors and a variety of creatives. Knowledge has ranged from novices through to those with more technical background.
Feedback suggests that Chromaticity Australia is delivering the best Colour Management course currently available to the professional photographic industry. Montalbetti+Campbell were amongst the attendees of the first course, and agreed that the two day course “Demystified colour management and gave them excellent hands on opportunities with a variety of high end devices including light boxes, calibration hardware and printers and a magnificent paper range.”
Other attendees also gave positive feedback –
Peter Eastway, Better Photography Magazine - “I think the course was very well structured, David was very capable in putting the concepts across, and I came away with a more rounded appreciation of a very complicated area of photography!”
Marcus Bell, Studio Impressions – “Completing the course has definitely improved my colour accurate workflow. I can monitor my inkjet prints and have full control of everything in house. David is completely approachable; this is a really valuable opportunity for professional photographers.”
David Simmonds and Ernest Gal of Simmonds Photography Melbourne also flew in for the course and David commented, “Facilities provided in the Inkjet Studio are top of the line, the range of printers and colour management hardware is excellent. David Crowther has an immense breadth of knowledge and experience that photographers could really benefit from.”
Similar responses were given by other professionals, Philippe Ruttens, Editor Capture Magazine noted, “For me the most valuable elements of the course were the monitor and printer profiling, followed by the soft proofing using the light box and Photoshop. This course is a must for professional photographers who need to deliver any type of digital files to clients, especially publishers, design and ad agencies. Any photographer who produces more than half a dozen prints a week really.”
Jacques Malan, of Crafted Picture Frames commented, “I will now be working with a far deeper understanding of the overall aspects of wide format printing. This leads to an appreciation of the many more specific aspects, which is so vital in achieving better results.
This course is packed with invaluable information.”
The courses have attracted attention across the creative industry and, not only do candidates get a certification at the end, they have had the perfect opportunity to make an analysis of which equipment and solution is right for them with out having to actually invest in any of the equipment. It has been confirmed that the courses have a direct effect on efficient workflow practices.
“Attendees are guaranteed to leave with the confidence they can print accurately, consistently and professionally.” Commented Camille Godfrey, Photographic Product Manager at DES.
